The best and missed (for ever) email client for any type of user is/was Outlook Express.
Easy to maintain. Copy the files anywhere, keep the files small in size, for a backup, or to use a new repository. Able to create unlimited subdirectories to keep your emails, thus never allow the dbx file to reach the 4gig max and get corrupt. Using that option I have all my emails since the 90's. Easy to use and configure filters. Detached address book, easy to copy or backup. Nice and fast search email function. Really easy to integrate with K9 to get rid of the spam. That last feature was integrated with the original Windows Mail in Vista, that they destroyed shortly after with a few upgrades and the introduction of the useless Live suite that only serves M$.
The lite-weight client that did everything as expected, NEVER corrupted emails, was always there when needed (even for a quick server test), fast to configure and faster than any Outlook heavy weight client, bloated with useless features, that you could have with Outlook Express anyway. Repairing pst files, and trying to archive is not just a pain, its the pits. Work was lost and productivity was down. O.Express though was always performing. Maybe the only reason to use vista without the live upgrades would be for the latest version of express aka Mail. Otherwise, we still stick with XP.
