1. ΤΟ ΠΕΤΡΕΛΑΙΟ εχει πια το 1/4 της τιμης και εμεις το πληρωνουμε σαν να ηταν στα 90usd και ακουσα στο ραδιοφωνο να λενε οτι εχουμε τωρα στο ελλαδισταν ειδικη επεξεργασια για μειωση του θείου που κανει την τιμη ακριβή. Αρα (με το πισω μυαλο) η κυβερνηση κρατα ψηλα την τιμη για να εισπρατει τα κερατα της εστω και με τον μειωμενο φορο που εχουμε! Στο αμερικα απο 5,5usd (με 150 usd/barrel) επεσε τωρα στο 1,5usd και αυτο ειναι το γαλλονι και οχι το λιτρο. Εδω μας κλεβουν.. ολοι και οι βενζιναδες στην τελικη.
2 Τα ιδια και η ΔΕΗ, εχουμε φαει ΤΙΣ αυξησεις χρονια τωρα και η ανακοινωση σημερα ειναι οτι δεν θα επιβληθει ρητρα πετρελαιου απο 1/1/2009 αλλα απο 2010. Δηλαδη εκτιμουν οτι θα ακριβηνει πολυ το πετρελαιο μεσα στο χρονο και θα μας εχουν κανει και χαρη? Αφου για παραγωγη ηλεκτρικου η χρηση πετρελαιου ειναι ελαχιστη. Ενω αν εννοουν οτι πληρωνουμε τα αεροπορικα και μετακινησεις με λιμουζινες των προεδρων.
Μια 'φτωχη' χωρα δεν χρειαζεται λιμουζίνες στο τελος - τελος. Να πανε με 500αρακια φιατάκια τα ζωα να κανουν και οικονομια στην επιχειρηση που ειναι κοινωνικης ωφέλειας. Καλο αυτο εεεε? κοινωνικη ωφέλεια μη χέσω! Ειναι ωφέλεια μονο για τους εργαζομενους γιατι σε καθε δύσκολο εχω αναγκαστει να βαλω 2 γεννητριες για να εχω ρευμα. ΖΩΑ!
3. ΕΥΔΑΠ. Δεν το συζηταμε. Πληρωνουμε χαρατσια για βοθρολυματα λογω ελλειψης. Αλλα εχουν δωσει αδειες για πανω απο 350 μετρα γεωτρήσεις σε δωρεαν και ανεξελεγκτη χρηση νερου. Οποιος εκανε τετοια γεώτρηση (μαζί με το συνεργειο) να συλληφθεί με την κατηγορια της Εθνικης Προδοσίας και να θανατωθεί με συνοπτικες διαδικασίες. Μετά να τον κάψουν και να κρεμασσουν το κουφαρι σε τοπικό δένδρο με αναφορά στο τι έκανε.
4. Ολοι σε οσους χαρίζουν πρόστιμα και χρέη. Κλέβουν απο εμένα που πληρωνω ολους τους φόρους μου και εξτρα (κλείσιμο βιβλίων κλπ χαράτσια)
5. ΕΦΟΡΙΑ Οι μεγαλυτεροι κλέφτες. Οπου σε πιάσει ο/η υπαλληλος για κανα δωρο (αμα τα καταφερει), ο έφορος (για την πάρτη του η για να δείξει οτι κάτι κάνει η εφορία του), η κυβέρνηση με τα κλεισίματα (που παντα επαιρνα λεφτα απο την οικογένεια μου για να πληρωσω γιατι απο τα κερδη της δουλειας δεν τα ειχα βγαλει, αλλοι επαιρναν δανειο, αλλοι πουλησαν οικοπεδο). Μονο αυτοι που ετρεξαν φετος να κλεισουν ειναι αυτοι που κλεβουν και ειναι συγκεκριμενου τυπου εταιρειες και η εφορια τα ξερει. Αλλα λενε, 'εμεις εχουμε το προνομιο της τρομοκρατιας ας τα κονομισουμε απο οσους/ολους που μπορουμε να εκβιάσουμε' ητοι εμενα και αλλο 1 εκατ/ριο κακομοιρηδες που δεν εχουν δυνατοτητα να μας τρεχουν στα φορολογικα δικαστηρια.
6. Δικηγοροι, Συμβολαιογραφοι και λοιποι χωμενοι στο συστημα που κρατουν στεγανα μεταξυ τους για να μην μπορεις να αντιδικησεις. Να εισαι χαμενος γιατι υπαρχουν τυπικοτητες που διατηρουν στο συστημα (κατι αντιστοιχο με το ΚΒΣ της εφοοριας που ισχυει κατα περιπτωση) για να μπορουν να σε βαλουν για τυπικους λόγους στο χέρι και να μην ξερεις απο που σούρ'θε. ΣΥΝΤΕΧΝΙΕΣ!
7. Ο ΚΟΣΜΟΣ ΤΟΧΕΙ ΤΟΥΜΠΑΝΟ. Αιτιολογιες του να βρουμε αποδειξεις και να τις παμε στον εισαγγελεα ειναι σαν το νομο περι ευθυνης υπουργων. Καταργηση τωρα και στην πυρά όλοι και παραυτα. Ειμαι ΔΕΞΙΟΣ και εχω αρχισει να σκεφτομαι σαν ΣΤΑΛΙΝΙΚΟΣ κουμμουνιστης. Το ξερω οτι το εκανες, τι αποδειξεις και πρασινα αλογα. Η εξορία η θανατική ποινή. Να καθαρίσει ο τοπος. Δεν εχει αλλο να περιφερεσαι εστω και προαυλιζομενος και να καθοδηγεις την επομενη στιγμη που θα μπορεσεις να βαλεις χερι στο βιος και στον κοπο μου.
8. Νοσοκομεια - Γιατροι/ Δημοσιος Τομεας / Προμηθειες. Λυση κινέζικης προέλευσης. Τα λεφτά ειναι του λαού. Οχι πλαφον στην μιζα. Πληρωσες 1€ παραπανω.... τελειωσες! Οχι μεταταξη. Ισοβια μονο γιατι να ειμαστε και politically correct και να κανουμε οικονομια στο σχοινι και το σαπουνι. Πισσα και πουπουλα και καμμια ταμπελλα στο λαιμο τυπου 'ΕΙΜΑΙ ΤΕΝΤΥ ΜΠΟΥΣ' δεν θα ηταν κακο. Διαπόμπευση σε μέγιστο βαθμό και να χέσω τα δικαιώματα του πολίτη. Θα πληρωσω εγω το προστιμο στους κουτόφραγκους.
9. Ποσοστωση στους μεταναστες. Ειμαστε το ξεφραγο αμπελι της Ευρώπης. Επαναπροωθηση τωρα. Ειτε εχουν χαρτιά ειτε οχι. Ας το κανουμε αμερικανικο το συστημα. Οι πιο παλιοι, με καθαρο ποινικο μητρωο και εδω και στην χωρα τους παιρνουν χάρη. Οι πιο νεοι και πηγαινοντας πισω στον χώρο επαναπροωθούνται τουρκία. Οι λοιποι στην αλβανία. Αν η τουρκία αρνηθει θα τους αποβιβαζουμε βραδυ με υποβρυχια. Μην γελατε γινονται και χειρότερα.
10. Μεγιστο πλαφον συνταξης (αυτες οι συνταξεις των 5000€ πολυ μου σπανε τα νευρα) στο 75% του μεσου ορου της ευρωπης. Οσοι ειναι στις ΔΕΚΟ δηλαδη εχουν τον κολο εμπρος και απο μηδενικα στην ζωη τους με μηδενικη προσφορα στην κοινωνια ανταμοιβονται απο τον κοπο μου?
11. Τελος στην μονιμοτητα του δημοσιου. Η ελλαδα ξεφυγε απο τις εποχες που υπηρχε αναγκη για κατι τετοιο. Εχεις αναφορες εναντιον σου? στις 3 εφυγες απο οποιοδηποτε και για παντα ευρυτερο δημοσιο τομεα και ΔΕΚΟ και επιτροπες και δεν ξερω τι αλλο κολπο ακομα εχουν για να χωνονται.
12. Ποιοι ηταν αυτοι που εβγαζαν το κοσμο απο τα καταστηματα που ηταν ανοικτα την κυριακή? Γιατι δεν εγινε μαζικη συλληψη απο την αστυνομια και τα ΜΑΤ. Που ειναι η προστασια των πολιτων και του τυπου που ειδα να τρωει σφαλιαρα απο τον ?αγωνιστή? μην χέσω και παλι και βρωμίσαμε. Τι τελευταιος ηταν ο τυπος που εδωσε την σφαλιαρα, τι βαλιτσες κουβαλαει ο κακομοιρης και εκει αισθανεται εξουσια. Εκτος νομου ολοι αυτοι που επεμβαινουν στην καθημερινη ζωη του πολιτη. Εμποδιζεις τον δρομο?, σπας? βγαζεις το αχτι σου? καντο στην ακρη του δρομου γιατι η παρεμποδιση της κυκλοφοριας μπορει να ειναι ποινικο και πρεπει πια να αντιμετωπιστεί ως τέτοιο. Υπαρχουν τροποι να διαμαρτηρηθεις χωρις εγω να την πληρωνω. Οταν την πληρωνω και εγω τοτε εσυ εισαι εκτος νομου και αρχης και θελω να σε τιμωρησω. Να δικαιολογησω ελευθερους σκοπευτες στα μπαλκονια που ριχνουν μερικες στον οχλο. Γιατι δεν εισαι ουτε λαος, ουτε πληθος. Εισαι σκατο που δουλευεις για την παρτη σου σε δικο μου κοστος. Γιατι να σε πληρωνω ΡΕ! Δουλεψε οπως ολοι μας. Η δουλεια ειναι υποχρεωσή σου και οχι υποχρέωσή μου να σε φροντίζω ΖΩΟ. Αν δεν μπορεις να κρατησεις δουλειά ειναι γιατι εισαι αχρηστος και ας ΠΙΣΤΕΥΕΙΣ οτι κατι αξιζεις. Αν ΑΞΙΖΕΣ θα ειχες δουλειά. Οποιος θελει δουλευει, η δουλεια δεν ειναι ντροπή και ας σβουρνιζεις κακαρατζες. τριτοκοσμικε ΕΥΡΩΠΑΙΕ του κολου ραγιά.

greek goverment - a contradiction in terms
Maybe its not known to the greater public but in Greece (Hellas) we have the most university graduates that any other country. From local universities and from abroad. That fact itself doesnt mean that you can find plenty of good scientists. Actually they just got a degree and thats it, but the sure thing is that they are able to read to put down how much is 1+1.
On the other hand we get political parties and governments that (as part of the people have lots of university degrees) but are not able to make out the sum of 1+1. Mainly because they believe that the high level math is not destined for this country.
EVERY BODY around here knows the problems of the government(s) and know that you have to break eggs to make an omelet. The government(s) just reside on their own turf and believe that if we push a "truth" from the media, everything would be jolly good and A ok. Its not!
We all have been exposed as professionals to the ways that they (all) steal money from us (all, again). How the tenders are setup, how the ministers take the money - simple, they send you a courier so "YOU DONT HAVE PROOF" - and everybody is hiding behind their finger.
They know that we know and do nothing to put the country back in track. Everybody just wants to make a little more money for themselves and dont give a damn about the country. A few of them have already left to live in other parts of the world. As in any country we also have our share of very little people that really worth less than the dust they step on. Still they are part of this place. But this place has a lot of resources and actual wealth that can make everybody happy and they are just giving it away.
A small example. Medicines and Pharmaceuticals. Doctors take a humiliating payoff (in many forms) in exchange to literary destroy withing legal excuse the assets (medicine, equipment, tools as used/broken/contaminated) so that the hospital will reorder. In EXTRA high prices. This is just an example of billions euro /year where with a very few millions the doctors would get the salaries and conveniences they want and get on strike every so often for.
Similar things happen in every little aspect of the public sector in this country. If you really calculate the expenses, we could be richer than iceland in the older days with actual money not borrowed.
Before euro, our money/gold was sold depreciating the value of drachma (DRX). Now its more complicated but more people make money in order to 'beat the system' the wrongful way.
I am considering these people as traitors of the nation. I file my taxes and retain my books according to the letter of the ΚΒΣ (greek legislation, from the days of the grekoroman empire, still in force today - exaggerated a bit but that's what it is). Not cause I'm stupid, just because I want to be able to shout that I can criticize and judge the others who try for an opportunistic profit.
The politicians in greece have not experience of running a business not much a country, they are just professional politicians that have no experience in anything but doing what they are told by ANYONE who promises money. And we CAN SEE this nowdays. We cannot be fooled. They talk about elections and that what I have serious doubts about now. How come nobody (I know) is voting for them and they get elected. Democracy seems a game for the few, at least in the way that is functioning right now. We have to look into it and find the scam that is behind it .. cause something smells fishy.

Windows 7 help global warming
its very simple. The most dangerous gas for the global warming is NF3. It is the basic material for cleaning lcd screens. Using windows 7 with the multitouch capability will force you to clean your screen 5 times a day. I always shout to people, "Don't touch the screen!" and I still get fingerprints on my screen although I do not have a TOUCH screen. Imagine what will happen with the new M$ windows release ! The planet will boil in no time, not just warm up.
I'm using a touch phone for a long time. with windows mobile. Do you believe that using a touch screen is as smooth as in demo videos? Think again. Also think about pressure on screen, sensitivity (that goes to the dogs when it gets a bit dirty), and cost even for cleaning. There is an infrared solution (no need to touch, placed as a frame over the screen) but thats for industrial screens and applications where if you touched the screen with a greasy finger, you could forget about having a screen.
Touchpads are a decent alternative, but try to use a touchpad with 2 hands. It'll be fun. I still see that the 3 button optical mouse is the future. Some voice commands maybe too.

I nag a lot. I enjoy life and my work a lot too. I use both hands with equal dexterity and I was born an engineer. I don't mind that.
I am able to spent in order to acquire all kinds of s/w and h/w. I use them a lot, to extremes for fun. I gave up assembly and programming in 1992. I devoted myself to system management. I make a living out of this plus some scada applications that I also do cause its easy for me to built custom solutions.
I get no money from any company to promote systems or solutions. I pick them myself cause they do what I like (and convince the customer that he likes it too). My systems work! Always! I present myself as a system integrator and expect them to award me the technology primadonna nomination.
I communicate with my kids over the home network, although the 4year old one walks over for a hug occasionally.
I urge people to "search google first, ask questions later" but its hard for them. Knowledge is out there, free (as beer and s/w should be). Please people, do not be afraid, be open, just give it a try. Technology is but too deep. Try it and Make your Day. Ofcourse I can program using only (0)zeros and (1)ones, but thats just me. And as Dilbert said, I'm lucky cause at his time they had only (0)zeros.

Mac OS X is as good as M$
its late at night and I just managed to recover my Mac. Yesterday I had a problem with my ubuntu laptop, but checking the huuuge user forums realized what should be done and restored my .gconf directory and It was done. Wasn´t easy, freaked me out, SHOULD NOT have happened.. but ended up ok. I had pushed my system to the limit, did things at a site that with m$ it would just tire me and would take 3 times in duration, but worked out with my hardy heron 8.04.1.
For the past 2-3 months that I own the mac, I was kinda envy of my friends using mac os before 10. They had those graphics, and sounds that I just got recently with 10.4.11 plus all available updates. Since I am not a luser, but an engineer, I spent many hours to find the best 5-6 gigs of downloads for various utilities for the mac os x. Very prudent thing of my behalf, that saved the mini mac from holding a vase in the future or being a door stop. (just joking, I have an iso of ubuntu for PPC awaiting).
Anyway, the mac worked hard for 2 months, and today as I was downloading netbeans with safari (!!!) cause I use firefox, the dmg after completion would not mount, giving errors. I happens that some downloads are corrupt but not from the official site of netbeans. I deleted it and started again with another download and got the same responce. I rebooted, since in case of doubt, using m$, you must reboot - my xp yesterday started responding on the 3rd reboot - and things got worst. The icons of my HD and my usb drives were not the neat ones but a folder icon. Did not pay much attention to relevance, so I searched for the way to switch back the icons. You guys at the mac forums, visit the linux users forum and learn. Many people at your forums giving their 2cent actually worth 0cent, or copy-pasting mac guide. That is m$-windows lusers attitude. Nothing worked from whats in there, very general approach and lots of sympathy to each other. No thanx. If you post a reply, be technical and specific. Its not a place for a chat, use chat channels not support forums.
Since I do not give up, cleaned disks, checked permissions etc (I have a disk image, but I do not format unless the system is broiled) decided to use the tools I was searching since day 0 and installed for ´in case´. Thank You ONYX. I went through every single tab, option and click. Had to reboot a few times after every cleanup option and it did the trick. Magic !!! you need magic with microsoft and apple.
Verdict
mac os x 10.4.xx is a piece of junk that gave me trouble the second week I bought it. Did things that a hard working system could bring after many months, or even couplaf years. Its xlent for people who do not know computers, once again, like m$ windows users that also get fanatic about it. I call it blunt ignorance, since they do not have the experience. I find it a very bad excuse that its BSD based, since there is nothing you can do with the *nix, and since AQUA takes control, then its windows story once again. I hoped that it would be stable. ITS NOT. And apple charges toooo much for selling you such a solution. If it was a choice of these two, I would go back to m$, its much better supported by users than the mac community. but then ... there is Debian and Ubuntu.
People would buy a car for the design, that breaks every 10000miles. Its a show off. I preffer a car thats got the horsepower and would not break for a million miles, even if it has no stereo or leather seats. Dont compare cars with me... please.. cause even if mine breaks accidentally, Iĺl fix it on the road myself. Got 25years behind me in OSs and I deliver. (in cars too)

Since I am not a luser, but an engineer, I spent many hours to find the best 5-6 gigs of downloads for various utilities for the mac os x. Very prudent thing of my behalf, that saved the mini mac from holding a vase in the future or being a door stop. (just joking, I have an iso of ubuntu for PPC awaiting).
Anyway, the mac worked hard for 2 months, and today as I was downloading netbeans with safari (!!!) cause I use firefox, the dmg after completion would not mount, giving errors. I happens that some downloads are corrupt but not from the official site of netbeans. I deleted it and started again with another download and got the same responce. I rebooted, since in case of doubt, using m$, you must reboot - my xp yesterday started responding on the 3rd reboot - and things got worst. The icons of my HD and my usb drives were not the neat ones but a folder icon. Did not pay much attention to relevance, so I searched for the way to switch back the icons. You guys at the mac forums, visit the linux users forum and learn. Many people at your forums giving their 2cent actually worth 0cent, or copy-pasting mac guide. That is m$-windows lusers attitude. Nothing worked from whats in there, very general approach and lots of sympathy to each other. No thanx. If you post a reply, be technical and specific. Its not a place for a chat, use chat channels not support forums.
Since I do not give up, cleaned disks, checked permissions etc (I have a disk image, but I do not format unless the system is broiled) decided to use the tools I was searching since day 0 and installed for ´in case´. Thank You ONYX. I went through every single tab, option and click. Had to reboot a few times after every cleanup option and it did the trick. Magic !!! you need magic with microsoft and apple.
Verdict
mac os x 10.4.xx is a piece of junk that gave me trouble the second week I bought it. Did things that a hard working system could bring after many months, or even couplaf years. Its xlent for people who do not know computers, once again, like m$ windows users that also get fanatic about it. I call it blunt ignorance, since they do not have the experience. I find it a very bad excuse that its BSD based, since there is nothing you can do with the *nix, and since AQUA takes control, then its windows story once again. I hoped that it would be stable. ITS NOT. And apple charges toooo much for selling you such a solution. If it was a choice of these two, I would go back to m$, its much better supported by users than the mac community. but then ... there is Debian and Ubuntu.
People would buy a car for the design, that breaks every 10000miles. Its a show off. I preffer a car thats got the horsepower and would not break for a million miles, even if it has no stereo or leather seats. Dont compare cars with me... please.. cause even if mine breaks accidentally, Iĺl fix it on the road myself. Got 25years behind me in OSs and I deliver. (in cars too)

MAC OS X and HP Scanjet 2200c
I got my mac for 2 months. Its got 10.4.11 +updates. I believed that my scanner was useless with this machine, and actually is, but the SANE project works.
Let me explain. My ubuntu is running Xsane and scans beautifully with that scanner. Just plug it in and it works. I always though that it should be that easy with my mac. It is not! Forget fink to install libusb and etc. Forget tottaly about compiling SANE from fink. Does not go for it (suprisingly enough). I downloaded all parts for SANE from the net, built for (my) tiger PPC G4. Rebooted .... (missed that thing with ubuntu) and then got neooffice for a scan. The TWAIN reported, the scanner moved, but no output given. Tried this many times, many options.
Then went to GIMP (X11). Requested a scan, reported me a blank options window that I had to select a scanner - dont be fooled, select the first blank option - opened the scanner with a nice icon at the dock, delayed a lot, gave all options, delayed a lot again, scanned normally and gave me a look-alike of what must have been! Well, cannot be used, but i'm huppy that it works.
Dont forget, it not the destination but the trip and I was looking for it, for some time now.
I'll use ubuntu to scan. My xp too. My thanks to SANE developers though, cause that s/w is needed, maybe not for my scanner but for the rest of the scanners in the world and OSs too!!!

Η Ελλάς εχει γεμισει κομπιουτεράδες. Αυτο το ξέρετε. Ο κάθε φιλόλογος ή μαθηματικός ή με ενα 5 μέσο όρο με άριστα το 20 και μετα απο πολλες ώρες απασχόλησης με ενα η/υ που το αγορασε 1500ευρώ ενω στην χονδρική κάνει 500 το πολύ (σημερα κατω απο 300) δίνει "υπηρεσίες" σε εσένα που το διαβάζεις αυτο το κείμενο και σε χρεώνει ποικιλοτρόπως. Απο ενα κιλο μπανάνες, ενα ζευγάρι παπούτσια, ενα κιλό μελιτζανάκι γλυκό ή ότι παράγεις. Αντε μερικες φορές απο 15 εως 45 ευρώ. Εσυ τον αγαπας γιατι ειναι ξαδερφος, κουνιάδος, θειος του μπατζανάκη της γυναίκας του τέως συγκατοίκου σου και έχετε μια άριστη σχέση. Εισαι πεπεισμένος οτι ή αυτό....., ή το μεγάλο όνομα που θα σου κοστίσει πολλά παραπάνω, και για αυτους που το δοκίμασαν ο θανάσης ήταν καλύτερη λύση γιατι πανω κατω τα ίδια κατάφερνε και κόστιζε οσο το 1/3 του καφέ για τον ενα χρόνο στο γραφείο.
Λυπάμαι κε Διευθυντά αλλά δεν είναι έτσι. Δεν ειναι ολα τα δάχτυλα του χεριού ίδια και φυσικά δεν είναι δυνατόν να πάρεις κάτι για τίποτα. Εχεις αποκτήσει την συνήθεια να δινεις πολλά για τίποτα. Αλλα εγω και 5 ακόμα δεν σου φταίμε που η ζωή έτρεξε λίγο πιο γρήγορα και γεννήθηκε το "τέρας" της τεχνολογίας, οπου αυτο το άτιμο το πλοίο σάλπαρε και το τραίνο εφυγε πριν σφυρίξει ο σταθμάρχης.
Εχω την εντύπωση οτι ξέρεις το καλό το πράμμα. Κοστίζει! Εσυ τι κερδίζεις? Το μέτρησες? η λεξη metrics ειναι ελληνικότατη και σημαντικότατη σε καθε μας επαγγελματική κίνηση. Αν μετράς θα βρείς ποιος ειναι ο καλος πωλητής (αστα αυτά τα ... εγω εχω ματι ταχύμετρο και αυτί στροφόμετρο), θαβρεις πιο προϊόν πουλάει και ενω εσενα σου αρέσει η συσκευσία και η συμφωνία με τον προμηθευτή αυτό μένει στο ράφι, θα βρεις τελικά που πανε ολα τα λεφτά και γιατι πληρώνεις συνέχεια (ασχετο αν το αποτέλεσμα ειναι καλό και βαζεις στην τράπεζα). Αν μετράς θα βάζεις παραπάνω στην τράπεζα και μπορεί να λυπηθεις τον υπουργό και να του δώσεις και λιγο φόρο, ετσι ωστε να δείχνεις και χλιδάτος οταν πας να τρυπησεις βιβλία και να μην σε πιάνει άγχος καθε φορά που βλεπεις εφοριακό (Ωχ παλι θα τα χώσω για να μην με γραψουν για κατι σοβαρό. οχι πως αυτά γίνονται, φημολογίες στην πιάτσα, το λενε ολες οι κυβερνήσεις απο το 74 και μετά).
Καπου εκει γύρω σε έχω μαντρωμένο, γιατι αν το πισί σου δεν παει καλά, εισαι εκτεθημενος. Αν οι παραγγελίες σου δεν περνούν αμέσως στο πισί, δεν πουλάς όσο μπορείς. Εμεις δεν είμαστε επένδυση, ειμαστε πάγιο που παράγει εργο και πλουτο (για τους χωμενους R.O.I., για τους άχωστους να ρωτησουν το καμαρι τους που σπουδασε οικονομικα στην Αγγλία). Γιατι τελικά είμαστε επένδυση, και αν το πάγιο συντηρείται τοτε αποδίδει για παρα πολλά χρόνια. τουλάχιστον μέχρι τα 65. βγάλε 43 που ειμαι τώρα. πάρε κόσμε.

Χρειάζεται πραγματία για το γιατί έγινε αυτό, αλλά έγινε και τα αποτελέσματα ειναι απτά στην αγορά. Για να βρεις προγραμματιστή που να ξέρει... αστο δεν υπάρχει. Αλλο πραγμα το programmer και άλλο το coder. Με αυτά και αυτά εχετε ρίξει την ποιότητα στα τάρταρα. Γι'αυτο πάρτε 800-1200 ευρώ και δεν θελω απαιτήσεις γιατι εχω πολλές χιλιάδες σαν κι εσάς ως καθηγητες επισης.
Το φοβερό φαινόμενο ειναι που εχετε τον coder να κανει και την συντηρηση του πισιου! Αφου στο σπιτι εχει κανει 1000 format το πισι του, δεν ξερει το δικτυό σας που ποσο μεγαλο ειναι τελος παντων, 3-5 μηχανάκια ??? Τι χάνετε που δεν δινετε 300 - 400 τον μηνα για υποστήριξη σε εναν επαγγελματία sysadm δεν θελω να σας το εξηγήσω εγώ. Ξερω ποσο καλα πανε αυτοι που μου δίνουν και πανω απο 1000/μηνα. Αντιμετωπιζω βεβαια το προβλημα οτι ειμαι σαν την κοκαϊνη. Αν δεν με δουν να περιφέρομαι, παθαίνουν ενα σύνδρομο στέρησης sysadm. Ασχετο αν όλα δουλέυουν. m$ vs ubuntu vs mac os X
I'm just another owner of a MAC. Does it worth it ?!?!?!
First of all, lets clear it out with the M$ stuff. I am a sysmgr, nowdays they call us admins, most of my kind are operators but anyway... Since I'm in the business for 25 years in major operating systems (major by design not commerce - VAX/VMS, Unix/OSF) I'm dealing with m$ products for the money only. I'm making a living showing people the obvious and locking the permissions - to plain user- for their accounts. To get over with this ... M$ windows is an application, its far far away from an operating system and we (fellow R&D engineers back in late 80's, working at a company on route 9) wrote lots of applications for SCADA that kicked out DOS (used only for boot up) and had our own application with windows (hand made, low res, like win 1.o) and zillions of graphics running up and down, clicking with the mouse and selecting stuff from the menus. Windows Vista is using the same technology (as win2, win95, win98, nt, millenium, 2000, xp and etc). Thank god graphics have evolved and they look better. Check out the cost though in resources. At that time we used to walk into the office, started also a SunOS to boot, went for breakfast at the dinner across the street and by the time we got back the logon screen would appear. Oh, those were the days! Tottaly unusable for our product, we kept on booting dos and kicking it out after loading our application. The only and real system that could do as good as our monolithic dos was vms (at that time OpenVMS with the brand-new windows motif) but there were only a couple of us that knew how to use it, and management was scared, so they managed (!@!) to spend all the money on the other "mature" os of the time, the glorious OS9.
The company died along with os9, unless you think that is still alive. It survives for obscure reasons in Israel, and possibly Vista will find a country to survive too. But that is "Just one country". There is also the way of the millenium product. "Lets forget we ever released that, and it'll go away". Maybe thats the reason Israely's are touchy. Imagine working and programming on os9 for years. You get lots of weird side effects and mutations.
And now .. (drum roll) MAC OS .... (another drum roll).. (pause)....
I have those friends that are really into macs. a couple are engineers ... not electrical though. with money to spend. maybe that is what the macs are. For people that are not afraid of the keyboard and require from the systems to boot for basic functions with funcy layouts. You press the button and it works. Thats good. You have a limited ammount of applications that you pay a bundle for (that why you have to have money) and you have to pick from a limited selection of hardware, that is expensive. Even with my freebsd subsystem, everything I want to do is costly, and cannot take the system apart. Cannot even eject a cd from the system (mini mac) if I turn the system of, or it gets stuck. My best friend with this system is a putty knife (to take it apart that is, not to break it).
I always make my systems work with all my hardware. The only hardware actually working with the mac os x 10.4 is a usb microsoft keyboard and mouse. Ain't gonna spend that money for apple's keyboard and mouse, get real! Does not recognize anything besides its own. Tried 4 sets of bluetooth headsets, 2 of them expensive (owned from the past), accepted them as headset devices alright and then was giving me errors that could not communicate. To all of them.
For my HP scanner, forget it... my external storage is recognized but can only write to fat32, read ntfs, for other ext3 partitions forget it... again. One of my cameras had picture bridge and it connected. The rest cannot be seen, even as usb dongles.
Wireless has some problems.. havent figured it out yet. It works, but not nicely. My guess would be that it does not see an apple AP at the other end and its jealous. That could be a proffessional opinion as far as macs go. At least the wired ethernet is working fine. There is a limited bunch of free software, and the best of all NeoOffice, the native OpenOffice. I've installed both. The neo was second, since I didn't know it existed in the first place. And spend a few hours how to configure X for running openoffice. I kept both for sentimental reasons. I have also kept, (not erased that is, but not activated) the preinstalled m$ office in MY mac.
As printers go... you will love ubuntu. Cause with the mac, apple is the boss. I got a very low tech, barely usefull wireless belkin printer server for 2 usb printers. It works -in general- with my XPs and my ubuntus (I got 8 pc's and 1 vaxstation at the house running, the 8th pc is utilized by the help with ubuntu in russian -language switchover in a matter of a few clicks). The mac keeps its nose so high that does not want to see such h/w around its neibourhood. So I can only print usb, with only one of my printers and that just because epson ships a cd for the mac. Ubuntu never asked for a cd. NEVER till now, to keep it fair. Even after the cd, had to do some manual things to recon the printer. The photo dock was the same story. Kodak cd and s/w!!! Ubuntu did not ask for a cd. My cameras, web and non web (usb converted) are not reconed. My fourth camera (Canon) had a cd, but thats for video editing only. At least it reads the video, something I never used before, I just edited on the camera, well I'll use it to get some of my investment back.
All the OpenSource s/w runs better on ubuntu since with that X sublayer the applications are on a "need to run" basis only. Aesthetically does not bind, looks weird. I prefer to run gimp on ubuntu under gnome, feels more integrated, and actually is. Dont miss the point here, ubuntu is debian and is far more related to freebsd than I am to my wife. Still doesnt run the same, doesnt feel the same, apple got a free subsystem and did something with it that I still haven't figured out what it is.
I also did not pay top euro for my mac, it was a clearance sale and could not resist the price. never had a mac before and I was itching. I will also buy one after retirement bundled with Alzheimer and total lack of perception.

Ubuntu 8.04, is so user friendly than 7.10, which was better that 6.06 which was better than some 5 which was better that a 4. It works with no cds to load drivers, it recognizes (better or worst) pretty much everything, has the BEST active forums (beat that mac and windows), that will help you find a solution on ANYTHING, and its FREE, very FREE,

you, the owner, are the master of your system, no secret hidden files and stuff. Reads/Writes to all (that I use and probably u use) filesystems, and you have over 100000 modules of freeware to work with.. (antivir, network tools, graphics, office stuff, games, education etc etc)
apple, kingdom of closed/locked systems, nice try, maybe next life.. got an HTC for twice the price of an iphone. You have to make me a better offer.
m$, even you are tired, give it up, the planet is still spinning and there are alternatives, now, not a year ago .. but its here, now.. start sueing everybody as fast as you can, buy them out, do something to give as a reason to hate you, dont go without a fight.

after review update: you have to try bootcamp from apple. Dont forget to press the control on th e bluetooth keyboard. they are selling this to proffessionals in my country so the system boots xp direclty. Please, somebody.. take them out of their misery.
First of all, lets clear it out with the M$ stuff. I am a sysmgr, nowdays they call us admins, most of my kind are operators but anyway... Since I'm in the business for 25 years in major operating systems (major by design not commerce - VAX/VMS, Unix/OSF) I'm dealing with m$ products for the money only. I'm making a living showing people the obvious and locking the permissions - to plain user- for their accounts. To get over with this ... M$ windows is an application, its far far away from an operating system and we (fellow R&D engineers back in late 80's, working at a company on route 9) wrote lots of applications for SCADA that kicked out DOS (used only for boot up) and had our own application with windows (hand made, low res, like win 1.o) and zillions of graphics running up and down, clicking with the mouse and selecting stuff from the menus. Windows Vista is using the same technology (as win2, win95, win98, nt, millenium, 2000, xp and etc). Thank god graphics have evolved and they look better. Check out the cost though in resources. At that time we used to walk into the office, started also a SunOS to boot, went for breakfast at the dinner across the street and by the time we got back the logon screen would appear. Oh, those were the days! Tottaly unusable for our product, we kept on booting dos and kicking it out after loading our application. The only and real system that could do as good as our monolithic dos was vms (at that time OpenVMS with the brand-new windows motif) but there were only a couple of us that knew how to use it, and management was scared, so they managed (!@!) to spend all the money on the other "mature" os of the time, the glorious OS9.
The company died along with os9, unless you think that is still alive. It survives for obscure reasons in Israel, and possibly Vista will find a country to survive too. But that is "Just one country". There is also the way of the millenium product. "Lets forget we ever released that, and it'll go away". Maybe thats the reason Israely's are touchy. Imagine working and programming on os9 for years. You get lots of weird side effects and mutations.
And now .. (drum roll) MAC OS .... (another drum roll).. (pause)....
I have those friends that are really into macs. a couple are engineers ... not electrical though. with money to spend. maybe that is what the macs are. For people that are not afraid of the keyboard and require from the systems to boot for basic functions with funcy layouts. You press the button and it works. Thats good. You have a limited ammount of applications that you pay a bundle for (that why you have to have money) and you have to pick from a limited selection of hardware, that is expensive. Even with my freebsd subsystem, everything I want to do is costly, and cannot take the system apart. Cannot even eject a cd from the system (mini mac) if I turn the system of, or it gets stuck. My best friend with this system is a putty knife (to take it apart that is, not to break it).
I always make my systems work with all my hardware. The only hardware actually working with the mac os x 10.4 is a usb microsoft keyboard and mouse. Ain't gonna spend that money for apple's keyboard and mouse, get real! Does not recognize anything besides its own. Tried 4 sets of bluetooth headsets, 2 of them expensive (owned from the past), accepted them as headset devices alright and then was giving me errors that could not communicate. To all of them.
For my HP scanner, forget it... my external storage is recognized but can only write to fat32, read ntfs, for other ext3 partitions forget it... again. One of my cameras had picture bridge and it connected. The rest cannot be seen, even as usb dongles.
Wireless has some problems.. havent figured it out yet. It works, but not nicely. My guess would be that it does not see an apple AP at the other end and its jealous. That could be a proffessional opinion as far as macs go. At least the wired ethernet is working fine. There is a limited bunch of free software, and the best of all NeoOffice, the native OpenOffice. I've installed both. The neo was second, since I didn't know it existed in the first place. And spend a few hours how to configure X for running openoffice. I kept both for sentimental reasons. I have also kept, (not erased that is, but not activated) the preinstalled m$ office in MY mac.
As printers go... you will love ubuntu. Cause with the mac, apple is the boss. I got a very low tech, barely usefull wireless belkin printer server for 2 usb printers. It works -in general- with my XPs and my ubuntus (I got 8 pc's and 1 vaxstation at the house running, the 8th pc is utilized by the help with ubuntu in russian -language switchover in a matter of a few clicks). The mac keeps its nose so high that does not want to see such h/w around its neibourhood. So I can only print usb, with only one of my printers and that just because epson ships a cd for the mac. Ubuntu never asked for a cd. NEVER till now, to keep it fair. Even after the cd, had to do some manual things to recon the printer. The photo dock was the same story. Kodak cd and s/w!!! Ubuntu did not ask for a cd. My cameras, web and non web (usb converted) are not reconed. My fourth camera (Canon) had a cd, but thats for video editing only. At least it reads the video, something I never used before, I just edited on the camera, well I'll use it to get some of my investment back.
All the OpenSource s/w runs better on ubuntu since with that X sublayer the applications are on a "need to run" basis only. Aesthetically does not bind, looks weird. I prefer to run gimp on ubuntu under gnome, feels more integrated, and actually is. Dont miss the point here, ubuntu is debian and is far more related to freebsd than I am to my wife. Still doesnt run the same, doesnt feel the same, apple got a free subsystem and did something with it that I still haven't figured out what it is.
I also did not pay top euro for my mac, it was a clearance sale and could not resist the price. never had a mac before and I was itching. I will also buy one after retirement bundled with Alzheimer and total lack of perception.

Since the educational system, worldwide, has switched to targeted skills, the wannabes hack/crack-ers have to do so much reasearch on their own that It has become virtually impossible to become one. Using other people scripts, or writing code based on published RPC built-in faulty design makes you an advanced USER. Only!
There are tons of knowledge required from the H/W, that the M$ application software wonna-be called OS, and vast knowledge of many programming languages and definattelly O.Ss to start thinking about hacks. Everybody else is a luser that might create a slight discomfort to the sysmgr at the other end. You exist cause there is a majority of lusers like you who became administrators.
WHY? i am seeing this everyday. Real LUSERS (customers) are so impressed with little things you do, and other LUSERS (h/w & s/w providers) are selling basic knowledge for advanced techniques (overcharging too). That is the reason I recently decided to move all my systems and my customers (slowly adapting, but they do) to FSF using ubuntu/debian as a platform of choice. Before you nag, its the closest platform they can get to visual acceptance, as to what they've been used to all these years. If it would be my choice I would have switched everybody to vax/vms (ok OpenVMS) where you have to be a "real man" to work that thing.
I have been under attack, my systems that is, every month for a week at least since 1994. I do not hold funcy systems, just regular https from customers, email and ftp. They target me for some reason (?easy target?). I always keep low resources (average related to my users) and never been brought down once. Have to delete (dont get huppy, copy to storage and then delete) gigs of detailed logs. Well ok...I only keep the last 5 years. I got your IP and provider listed with GMT. That means I got you someplace.
The same with the companies that make the viruses. Wonna see, what you gonna do when people dont use admin accounts on M$ to surf the net. Proven fact: all my installations that users dont have admin privs, do not get viruses. Also use hosts file http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm blocks a huge percentage of slime and http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html aka Spybot to clean the unwanted. k9 http://keir.net/k9.html for your email (excellent) and they are all FREE. No tricks no frills.
Never need to spend money on antivirus companies ever again. remember that you have to use a non admin account too. Simple as that.
the best of all, switch to linux, prefferably www.Ubuntu.com since they are doing such a great job and you can get about 24000 utils/applications for free. Runs skype, googleearth and picasa too natively. Get openoffice in any language (even cambodian) and ditch m$ office still been able to read and write the old documents you have and more.
Lets give computing and internet another chance.
Dont pay money for something that should be free from people that are providing it with no charge. ( check www.fsf.org)
Turn your back to useless hacks and cracks since they are not worth it any more (we are not in the 80's). The real hack is to have an M$ system with uptime and not slowing down like melassa during the winter in Canada, and erase from your memory the blue screen of death (BSOD)._

I enjoy my work as a freelance sysadm. Nobody, with the exception of REAL admins, realize the hectic job and the attitude of "lusers" to sympathize. Still the ones I hate the most, are the script kiddies that fill my logs with unauthorized access. They are a possible threat, but a far fetched one.
Do I report them? Will the ISPs really ban them? Is there a place to put their names and profiles as "Advanced Lusers" at the net? Is it proper, for me, to ban whole IP range from providers just to make sure that they are not even a even slight threat to my systems any more, and my users will get their connectivity and bandwidth?
