fighting spam from china, brazil etc

a lot is from italy and from polacks. i'm on it.
for the time I found a simple formula(e). they attack my pop to get smtp access. a minute ago was a person from 112.216.83.178. I checked with apnic and it was various china providers. so now all 112.*.*.* is blocked. Simple. copy that file to smtp access also and you are literally home free. So much for free (!) internet. Why spend money on h/w and time on iptables. deny.hosts on my ubuntu server has 2 entries on deny .cn and .br.
its that simple too. fax me your static ip, and i'll type it in the whitelist file.

the downside for Lusers aka non technical users, is that internet will be as it was before dns during the arpanet era. designated file with hosts that communicated only to each other. I'm comfortable with it.

just relax, think about it and get the big picture. you'll agree with me sooner or later.
