SONY VAIO sucks big.. or sony in general!!!

Freelance tales: customer was asking about a new laptop. chit-chat about the various low-high end and presents me a choice of vaio or LG. I suggest the latter but he decides on vaio. Until then no harm was done ( I thought) so he goes out and spends 1500euro inc vat 19% for the product. With VISTA pre-installed of-course. Home version. is there an advanced home? anyway it said home. At the time that I had my ubuntu live cd running and resizing his partition I (after I had saved the MBR on a file, thanks to some IT guardian angel that I have) in order to save vista for god-forbid future use, I realized that the laptop has no drivers whatsoever or any support for XP or ANY other version that the vista. Can you imagine that I got a h/w thats totally useless and sells for high-end product? WE BUY H/W. NOT S/W. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO RUN ANY OS ON THE H/W.0
Rebooting to vista was not as easy as I believed in the first place. Automatically a system fault checker launched and said that it was checking and auto fixing the system. Apparently it did not like the new partition sizes that it found for vista. Works for ANY other OS but not vista you see! After waiting for over an hour, seeing the machine doing nothing, just being stuck on that label,

I pressed the power-button. Reloaded ubuntu live cd, copy the saved mbr back, rebooted. The vista did an auto checkdisk (!!!) and booted normally. the moral: BUY systems with-ought any pre-installed os. DONT BUY VAIOs because the least they could do is build some Microsoft drivers. Seems Microsoft is so desperate in selling VISTA that will do anything with the manufacturers to have their so called OS installed and running than downgraded. By the way the customer purchased a new XP license to install on the system. So that was no downgrade in any case. Was an actuall new system installation.

Go figure! MS we want our money back. ALL our money, for spending hours per day just wrestling with your systems to keep them working not being productive at work. You ignorant pc users. Ever seen how fast an ubuntu boots up and shutdown? Even after 1 year or 3 years operation and continues installations of s/w packages. Maintenance free, no registry, no hidden records/files, no activations, no trojan or viruses, and easy backup? And no CPU or MEMORY requirements!!!! No cds to install cause no drivers are really needed for the average joe! And a zillion applications to do whatever you want in the repositories. .... Oh.. but sorry I forgot. You are only familiar with only one application (per case) and totally incompetent to learn to use another that does the same thing and its free.
